    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the great content!! – I’ve been reading for the last month while I’ve been setting up a facebook page for my band. I’ve just now decided after heavy thought and reading your posts that I want to use Wix for our website. I’ve learned a lot about what to do by reading your articles. Unfortunately, I just decided today to sign up for the newsletter. I wish I had done it sooner for 2 reasons. 1 Again, it is valuable, genuine content. And 2 I need a promo code asap, as we need to save every dollar we can before we release our first demo CD/Download next week. Is there anyway you could send/show the promo code now? I am running out of time. Thanks again and I appreciate all your help!! – Troy Ericson

      Hi Troy,

Glad you’re enjoying our discussions on our website. Wix is a solid website builder and I’m glad to hear that you’ve decided on a website builder.

The coupon should be automatically sent out in a couple of days. At the mean time, you can start building out your website using the free plan, then upgrade later! So you can get started even before upgrading.

    Hi Jeremy,

    Thanks for the advice.
I too am looking for the wix promotional coupon.
I signed up for your newsletter but it never showed up in my email. It took me to a page where I read the tips. Is this the way it happens. Just wondering, as I haven’t gotten an email from you. Please advise. I will wait for the wix coupon.

If you signed up to our newsletter, you should receive a confirmation email to confirm that we have your correct email address, and also that you want to sign up (instead of someone randomly using your email to sign up to random newsletters).

Do check your junk / spam mailbox to see if the confirmation email got stuck in there. Sometimes when email service providers don’t recognize an email address, it stores the email into the junk mail folder.

It doesn’t seem there are any current promo codes out there at all. Multiple searches…including of course looking on the Wix site itself. Am I missing anything?

    • Jeremy Wong
      Jeremy Wong July 8, 2016 at 10:29 AM #

      Hi Jenn,

Maybe Wix temporarily removed that page? I’m not sure.

We do have a promo code for Wix if you just sign up to our newsletter. We have a sign up box above this comment (but below the post). After you sign up, it should be sent out a few days later.

Is this still the case, Jeremy? Will you still send a 33% discount coupon code for Wix if I sign up for your newsletter?

          Jeremy Wong August 19, 2016 at 8:32 PM #

Yup. It will take a few days though.

        Hi Jeremy,
I’m trying to find where to subscribe to the newsletter to receive the Wix promo code…Am I missing something super obvious? :\ Is the newsletter subscription sign-up the ad-looking box that says it will email you a ‘free guide’? Thanks for your help!

        • Jeremy Wong
          Jeremy Wong August 26, 2016 at 4:08 PM #

          Hey Ronny – that’s right.

Just sign up to our free guide in the box above, and one of the emails that will be delivered to you will include a Wix coupon.

It will take a few days, but that gives you some time to test out Wix further to see if you want to upgrade with them!

Hi Jeremy! Thanks so much for your guidance and insights. My husband and I are old-school people who are not as updated as the rest of the world when it comes to websites. We chose Wix to build a website for our business but don’t understand why we are not at the top of a Google search (this and other more issues). We really do not understand SEO or if we are doing it right.

Just like you and Connie, we are wasting so much time just figuring out stuff. Grateful if you can help us on this. A million thanks!!

      Jeremy Wong November 6, 2015 at 12:03 PM #

      Hello MYV,

Thanks for your comment. I think the struggle to get to the top of Google search results is “universal” and not just Wix specific. Considering how many hundreds of millions of websites there are out there, the fight to climb to page 1 of search results can be really competitive!

SEO is a long term investment and takes time and commitment. There are a lot of good (and unfortunately, bad) information about SEO out there. So best to start reading a bit about it every day and soon enough, you’ll get a good idea of what works nowadays. Maybe start with resources like Moz or Quicksprout.

I wanted to thank you both for this wonderful information.. I think I will go with wix but wondered if you knew the answer to this. I currently have cubecart and blue host. If i switch to Wix, what happens with my domain? Do I need to pay wix anything besides the monthly fee? Currently along with my monthly hosting fee, i pay a single cost for domain privacy and domain registration to bluehost.

    • Jeremy Wong
      Jeremy Wong April 6, 2015 at 3:49 PM #

      Hi Lin,

In addition to paying the monthly fee for a premium plan (if you decided to upgrade), you will still need to pay for an annual domain name fee so you can keep your custom domain name.

But if Bluehost holds your domain name, you can keep it there and pay Bluehost the annual fee to keep the domain registered under your name. You can then connect the domain name from Bluehost directly to your Wix site.

If you visit Wix’s support center, type in “bluehost” and you will find tutorials on how to do that.

    Is the code still available?

  11. ling August 12, 2014 at 7:41 PM #

hi can i check if i can purchase a domain from godaddy and then sign up wix monthly plan using godaddy domain? 🙂
im planning to start my e commerce site. but not sure if i need to pay extra for domain if i sign on their monthly plan

    • Jeremy Wong
      Jeremy Wong August 13, 2014 at 1:40 PM #

      Hi Ling,

Yes, you can purchase a domain name from GoDaddy and connect it to your Wix website.

The only thing you should know is that you have to upgrade your Wix account to at least the Connect Domain plan before you can connect your domain name with your website.

Another thing to consider is that if you purchase their Combo plan and higher, you actually get a domain name for free for 1 year from Wix.

      Hi Peter,

There should be some recent ones in the forum. But we do have a private coupon if you sign up to our newsletter. We can’t disclose it publicly, but it will eventually be sent to your email if you sign up!

  14. Jerry November 18, 2013 at 11:09 PM #

Question, on wix if you choose the monthly plan you do not get a free domain. Is it a large cost for a domain? also how many different websites can 10gb storage hold? thanks in advance 🙂

    • Jeremy & Connie
      Jeremy & Connie November 19, 2013 at 3:12 AM #

      Hi Jerry,

If you purchase a domain name from Godaddy, it will cost around $12 – $14 per year. So about a dollar a month, which isn’t too bad. As for how many sites 10gb can hold, I think that depends on how big your site is, and how many images / files you upload into the site. So it’s very hard to gauge.

  17. Anna September 15, 2013 at 2:15 PM #

Hi, I am trying to decide whether to use Weebly or Wix for my new website. One thing that is not clear to me, is whether Wix starts charging the full price (as opposed to the discounted one they quote in the price overview) from the second year onward? In which case, they are very expensive. This would be a factor in my choice although I think – like you- that their designs are superior to any other website builder.

    • Jeremy & Connie
      Jeremy & Connie September 15, 2013 at 10:06 PM #

      Hi Anna,

I think the discount code is only applicable for the first year. Starting from Year 2, you will resume paying the normal retail rate to use their services.

Glad you also find their templates great!
