KEY THINGS THE BEST REAL ESTATE WEBSITE TEMPLATES HAVE

“You might already know how you want your real estate website to look – but your site is more than a brochure! It’s a tool for growing your business. This makes it essential that your real estate template contains certain key features.”

Instead of spending thousands of dollars hiring a web developer, why not take advantage of the out-the-box functionality offered by a real estate website template?

Our recommended templates below are eye-catching and professionally-designed. They also come equipped with all the bells and whistles you need to kick your business up to the next level!

The best real estate website templates will:

  1. Be Mobile friendly
  2. Show-off your listings (past + present)
  3. Build your brand + client trust
  4. Help you generate new leads
  5. Help you explain the buying + selling process

1. Be mobile friendly

“It’s important that your real estate website template is mobile responsive or at the very least mobile-friendly. If your real estate website looks great on any device, then you’re less likely to miss out on sales.”

Over 70% of Americans now prefer to browse the internet on their smartphone or tablet, so it’s never been more important for your real estate website to look great on different devices.

Ideally, you’ll choose a real estate website template that is mobile responsive, enabling your website to resize and optimize itself for the screen it’s viewed on.

If your template isn’t responsive, then it should at least be mobile-friendly. This lets you adjust your website for smaller screens in your builder’s editor.

Ensuring that your real estate website template looks great on any device makes it easy to browse anytime, anywhere. This can help to to win over potential new leads and lead to more enquiries.

2. Show-off your properties (past + present)

“Choosing a real estate website template that shows off your listings is essential if you want to catch the eye of buyers. Displaying past listings also shows that you can close properties, building trust.”

It’s important that your real estate template shows off your listings and catches the eye. This makes it really easy for people to quickly find the property they want.

You’ll also want to show off your previous listings. If you don’t, how will potential clients know that you’ve closed any deals, or the sort of properties you can close?

Our recommended templates below put your listings front and center, building trust so that buyers don’t look anywhere else.

Choose a real estate website template that shows off your current + previous listings in the best possible way. This catches the eye of potential buyers and can help build trust.

3. Build your brand + client trust

“Your real estate brand is about more than selling properties. It’s affected by the first impression you make, the knowledge you display and whether potential clients buy into your offering. Choosing the right real estate template can be a real time-saver in helping you grow your brand.”

At its most basic, your real estate website template needs to able to display your brand logo, your brand colors, and have space for lots of beautiful property imagery. This immediately establishes who you are to potential leads – buyers + sellers.

You’ll also want a template that lets you introduce yourself to the world. Having an ‘About Us’ page on your template saves you time adding one and can really help to build trust quickly.

Keep your eyes open for templates with a blog too. You don’t want to spend time configuring + setting a blog up if you can simply pick a template that already includes one!

Writing a blog is an excellent way of sharing your expertise and improving your website’s SEO. If you blog regularly on a topic, it can actually help boost your Google rankings, putting your business in front of more people.

The real estate templates below can all help grow your brand and build customer trust. They come equipped with blogs and other content-rich pages, saving you the time + effort of having to add them in yourself.

4. Help you generate new leads

“In our digital world, if buyers and sellers can’t contact you through your website, they’ll go elsewhere. Choose a real estate template with a contact form so leads can contact you with ease.”

You’ve got dozens of competitors trying to capture the same market share, so you need to make things as simple as possible. Otherwise prospects will look elsewhere.

This means that your real estate template should allow people to contact you through your website.

Not only does this simplify the enquiry process, but gives you the ability to generate home valuations from day one.

Picking a template with a contact form already on it is a great way to save time that you could spend on more important things – like closing deals!

Our recommended real estate templates all have a contact page or form, making it easy for both buyers + sellers to get in touch. An added bonus is that it’ll free up the valuable time you’d otherwise spend adding one to your website.

5. Help you explain the buying + selling process

“If you explain the how things work, your clients will buy into you. Try to opt for a real estate template that has space for this important content.”

As with any sales-based job, winning customer trust is essential if you want to be a success (which I assume you do if you’re reading this guide!).

One of the best ways of getting prospects to buy into you is to clarify the process they’re about to go through.

Your real estate website should act as a digital version of the presentations you give to homeowners and homebuyers in your real world office. Think of it as an online trust factor.

There’s no reason why this has to be text either. Perhaps it would be better communicated by video or a series of images? Whatever you decide, make sure you can communicate this key content on the real estate template you choose.

Use your website to let prospects know how you work. This is great for transparency and helps to manage expectations too. The real estate templates below can help you build trust by explaining your processes to prospects.

Squarespace’s templates are clean, stylish and absolutely scream professionalism. They are a great choice for brokerages looking to make an impactful first impression and win over client trust.

Five Template

The Five real estate template is very attractive and has a really high-end feel to it. It combines large, eye-catching imagery with delicate fonts and lots of white space, creating a classy vibe that prospects can really buy into.

On-site navigation is clearly signposted, which keeps things simple for anyone browsing. The contact form is ideal for painless on-site lead generation and can easily be tweaked to fit the way your brokerage works.

I also love the fact that you get a blog right out-of-the-box as it’s a great way to start building your brand, connect with clients and explain more about the buying & selling process.

I rate Squarespace’s Bryant Hill real estate template as one of the most modern designs in this guide. It oozes class and your listings are guaranteed to catch the eye of potential leads thanks to the smart-looking fonts, bold imagery and white backgrounds.

2) Wix (110+ million websites)

“Wix is an easy-to-use website builder that offers a wide range of attractive templates that can be customized easily.”

Wix offers more than 500 templates that cover all sorts of websites. It has 12 dedicated real estate templates, so you get a decent choice of designs to start with.

It’s worth noting that Wix’s templates are mobile-friendly rather than mobile responsive, so you need to optimize the look and feel in the editor to ensure your site looks as good as possible on other devices.

Wix’s big selling point is its versatility. The editor is easy to use and you can amend and customize your real estate template as much or as little as you want – it really is up to you!

Real Estate Company Template

Attractive, functional and very professional-looking, Wix’s ‘Real Estate Company’ template might have a generic title but this design is far from ordinary.

If you are looking for a real estate template that can be used straight out of the box with minimal editing, then this is an excellent choice.

Listings are given prominence, you’ve got a contact form on the homepage, and lots of room to add in extra content to explain your processes or introduce your brokerage to prospects.

Out of the box, can this template…
Be optimized for different screens? Yes, it’s mobile friendly
(can adjust in the editor)
Show-off your listings (past + present)?

Property Group Template

If you are looking for a simple, but functional, real estate website template then ‘Property Group’ could be one to look into.

I really like the simplicity of this template, which makes it a great choice for smaller, more independent brokerages. It’s no trouble to add in your branding or extra pages either, thanks to the user-friendly Wix editor.

The ‘Property Group’ template could be used straight out the box, saving you a lot of time. But with a little love and care, you can really make this real estate template your own.

3) Weebly (40+ million websites)

“Weebly is a very easy to use website builder that focuses on being as user-friendly as possible.”

You’ll find that Weebly provides over 50 themes (Weebly-speak for template), all of which are mobile responsive. Weebly only has one theme aimed at real estate websites.

This might sound limited, but as long as you know the sort of content you want on your real estate website, there’s nothing stopping you from editing any of the available themes.

Weebly’s editor is very intuitive to use, which does away with any learning curve. You’ll pick it up quickly and be on your way to creating an amazing real estate website in no time!

Bayside Inn Template

‘Bayside Inn’ is Weebly’s closest thing to a specialized real estate website template. By default it’s tailored towards rentals + lettings, but the skeleton of the design can easily be adapted for your needs.

I’m a big fan of the horizontal image blocks that break up the page and keep content separate – making things easier to read for prospects. You’ve also got lots of room for imagery, so can show off your listings to really drum up interest and build trust.

Out of the box, can this template…
Be optimized for different screens? Yes, it’s mobile responsive
Show-off your listings (past + present)?
Build your brand + client trust?

4) Placester

“Placester is a specialized real estate platform that you can manage your whole business from. It is less versatile than more all-rounded builders like Wix and Squarespace though – so specialization does come as a slight compromise to creative freedom.”

Placester offers numerous website templates, but gives you nowhere near as much creative freedom as Wix, Squarespace and Weebly do.

You’ll struggle to find a template that is a beautiful as any offered by Squarespace, and you won’t be able to make something as eye-catching as you could with Wix.

So, I’d recommend Placester’s real estate templates for those brokerages in need of a functional website that looks professional.

Phoenix Real Estate

The ‘Phoenix Real Estate’ template is nowhere near as pretty and attractive as Wix’s ‘Real Estate Company’ template, but it comes with a heck of a lot more out-the-box functionality.

You can instantly tell that Placester know the real estate game because their templates have all the bells and whistles you might need. At times it can even feel a little excessive as there’s just so much on each template.

You get a blog for brand building + content marketing, contact forms are dotted across the design on most pages, and there is a lot of room for you to share information about your agency – which goes a long way in building client trust.

Out of the box, can this template…
Be optimized for different screens? Yes, it’s mobile responsive
Show-off your listings (past + present)?
Build your brand + client trust?
Help you generate new leads?
(contact forms on most pages)
Help you explain the buying + selling process?

Fremont Real Estate

I think I prefer this ‘Fremont’ template to the ‘Phoenix’ design above.

The color palettes are softer – although this is easy to edit to your own brand colors – and the page layouts just seem a little neater and more spacious. It’s less cramped, that’s for sure.

The additional space helps the content seem less in-your-face, which is important because you don’t want prospects and online visitors to feel like you are pressuring them.

This is a good template for building customer trust, while also being extremely practical for your business needs.

THE BEST REAL ESTATE WEBSITE TEMPLATE FOR YOU

The above list of our best real estate templates shows you the sort of designs available to your brokerage.

We’ve judged each one on its attractiveness and out-the-box functionality. You can be confident that our recommended templates will help build your brand, generate leads, and save you time + money.

We believe Squarespace has the best real estate templates around because its designs are both practical and beautiful. This will help you stand out from the crowd and make a lasting impression on future prospects.

Squarespace is a very image-focused platform. This makes it ideal for showing off high-resolution property photos in your listings. The ‘Five’ template even has built-in testimonials, which you can use to show off past successes and build trust.

Squarespace templates are mobile responsive and all come with contact forms. This makes it super convenient for prospects to get in touch from any device.

We rated Wix as our runner up – but only just. Wix has more templates than Squarespace, but they lack the high-end refinement offered by the latter. I was also surprised by how feature-rich Wix’s templates were – the number of out the box features they have is a real time-saver!

Weebly’s templates are easy on the eyes, but would need polishing in the editor to match Squarespace’s out-the-box functionality.

I like Placester’s templates and they are well equipped with features but are lacking in looks. This can cut the time you spend tweaking and amending your chosen design. Placester templates are a good choice if you value practicality over creative freedom.
