This week, popular app Threads rolled out new analytics to help businesses grow on social media and understand how their content is discovered and interacted with. The expansion will provide additional insights, such as demographic data, giving you the information you need to optimize and personalize your content for the right audience. New Threads Features Provide Fresh Data As of July 22, Threads has made improvements to Threads Insights to help creators and businesses using the app. Meta spoke on the change:“We’re doing more to make Threads the best place for sharing fresh perspectives, and continuing to help creators build and grow their communities on Threads. Part of this is giving creators tools for understanding the kinds of content and conversations that resonate with their audiences.”The additional analytics will allow businesses to:See how followers engage with your content – data includes likes, replies, quotes, and repostsCheck how your content is discovered – Threads content gets promoted across the Meta ecosystem, so you can now monitor your reach more effectivelyReview demographic data – assess follower growth by region and see which age groups and genders interact with your content the mostTrack post performance – monitor views, interactions, and trends over the past seven, 14, 30, or 90 daysSource: Meta Where to find Threads Insights ⬇️ To access this new data from Threads Insights, navigate to the icon at the top left of your profile on mobile. For desktop users, this will be at the bottom left of the page. Then, tap “Views” to see where people saw your content, tap “Interactions” on the main dashboard to see engagement data, and tap “Followers” for demographic and growth insights. Growing Your Community on Socials Having access to this new data will help businesses and creators engage with their target audience more effectively. If you know that the majority of your audience on Threads is located in sunny Florida and is primarily male, you probably don’t need to promote your new women’s skiwear on the app.Plus, Threads operates within the Meta ecosystem, meaning posts you make on the app can appear on Instagram and Facebook. This helps you promote and boost visibility across platforms, without necessarily needing to repurpose or edit content. Should Your Business Use Threads? The Meta-owned app launched in 2023 to compete with Twitter (now known as X). Since then, Threads has experienced significant growth, with over 115 million daily active users last month. This puts it only marginally behind X’s daily active users, meaning Threads offers a growing community of users for businesses to engage with.Of course, using social media for your business isn’t a surprising tip nowadays, but Threads is still relatively new to the game in comparison to other platforms, like Facebook or YouTube. The expansion to the toolkit will help businesses personalize content, connect with their online community, and monitor growth on the app.So, while it might be new territory for your brand, these additional insights can help you shape your strategy and improve your performance. If your target audience and competitors are active on Threads, then your business should be as well.
