  • Square allows Android Tap to Pay so UK users can take contactless payments with an Android cell phone.

Square announced the news that they now accept Android for tap to pay. Square accepts contactless payments with digital wallets like Google Pay and Apple Pay. Making it easier than ever to accept payments wherever you want to – especially if you’re using Square Online to run your store.

What You Can Do With Square Contactless for Android

Sellers can conduct in-person commerce with their Android device. You can now open apps like Square Appointments, Square Point of Sale, Square for Restaurants, or Square Invoices, on Android and enter the sale. Then customers can see what they owe and tap their contactless card or digital wallet to the phone. You can find out if your device is compatible with Android contactless here.

We’re excited for this feature because this makes it super easy for customers to tap and pay for items on the go. If your business sells in person, door-to-door, or if your services are applied in customers homes – this solution makes the process smooth for you and your customers.

How You Can Accept Android Payments

It’s a fairly simple four step process to allow your customers to pay contactless via Android. Firstly you need to download the app for Square Point of Sale, which is free. Then in the app you can add the item you’re selling or the amount being charged. Ask customers to tap their contactless card or digital wallet to the back of your phone, and there you have it.

This will open up business for those who can’t afford a contactless device but have a compatible Android device – a great tool from Square Online we expect businesses will adopt readily.
