At the Cannes Lions Festival on June 16, Reddit announced a new AI-powered social listening tool, Reddit Insights. The tool is driven by Reddit’s new internal data engine, Reddit Community Intelligence, and will give brands a new way to discover what makes their audience tick.
Want to know how you can use this tool to drive your marketing decisions on Reddit? I’ll cover everything you need to know below.
Social Listening With Reddit Insights
Reddit’s latest tool will use AI to analyze subreddit conversations as they happen and translate them into actionable insights for brands to use to grow online.
In a gif shared by Reddit, we see there are four tabs in the Reddit Insights tool:
- Explore Anything: Analyze topics and keywords and find the communities actively discussing them
- Compare Anything: Dig deeper into conversations and find points of interest
- Understand a Cultural Moment: Predict cultural shifts and trends within your industry
- Map a Purchase Journey: Understand how Reddit conversations are used to drive sales

The tool is powered by Reddit’s new internal data source, Reddit Community Intelligence, which analyzes every Reddit post (over 22 million) and converts them into marketing-focused insights for brands.
What else is new with Reddit?
At the event, Reddit announced Conversation Summary Add-ons. Also driven by Reddit Community Intelligence, this AI-driven tool will turn positive UGC about your brand into ads.5 Ways To Use Reddit Insights
Reddit is one of the most trusted product recommendations platforms, so businesses need to be in touch with conversations about their brand on Reddit. Reddit Insights makes it a whole lot easier to find, analyze, and take action from information, especially with AI summaries of data sets.
The most useful ways the Reddit Insights platform can be used by businesses are:
- Understanding brand sentiment: Learn how users perceive your brand and products
- Improve product offering: Identify gaps in the market that your brand could fill, and use feedback to improve your existing products
- Analyzing competitors: Keep track of how users see your competitors
- Identifying relevant trends: Get an in-depth understanding of trending topics and understand whether they align with your brand
- Planning campaigns: Create marketing material around current trends and pain points
For example, Reddit Insights might identify a growing trend in your niche and show you the exact subreddits to engage with. This information can then be used to shape your content strategy for Reddit, other social media platforms, and your website.
Final Thoughts
For traditional social listening to work, you need to check social media consistently, which takes a lot of time and commitment. Reddit’s AI technology automatically tracks conversations as they happen so that you can be confident that your search results are up to date and relevant.
Reddit Insights is currently in testing and will be released publicly in the near future. If you haven’t done so already, sign up to Reddit, start engaging with communities, and familiarize yourself with the platform before Reddit Insights launches.
