How To Create and Add LinkedIn Videos Go to the top I found LinkedIn’s three-step video editor simple to understand. Source: Website Builder ExpertCreating and adding a new video to your LinkedIn profile is incredibly easy. You can follow along with the steps below:Start a new post on the LinkedIn homepageSelect the “Media” icon in the post box (this looks like a picture)Choose a video from your library or record a new video – it must be at least three seconds longEdit your video using LinkedIn’s tools – the video editor gave me the option to edit the clip, add text to my video in a variety of styles, and choose to add automated closed captionsWrite your post to accompany the video – there’s no character limitPost your video right away or schedule it for a later date ➡️ Get more tips on creating a successful video marketing strategy with our detailed guide. LinkedIn Leans Into Video Go to the top According to LinkedIn, video creation on the social platform has increased by 100% and uploads have gone up by 36% since last year. It’s obvious that interest in video media continues to grow, so it’s not surprising to see LinkedIn leaning into the format. In March 2024, LinkedIn added a vertical video feed to rival the popularity of video-focused channels like TikTok and YouTube. The “Video” icon is in the bottom bar of the app screen. This gives users already familiar with TikTok a similar scrolling satisfaction when browsing LinkedIn. Unfortunately, LinkedIn lacks any program or rewards for creators, so the incentive to post on the platform isn’t as strong as it is on competitors. That said, posting videos can increase engagement and reach for your business, and it’s a great way to capture a viewer’s attention quickly. ➡️ If you’re interested in making the most out of LinkedIn as a platform, read our guide on creating a newsletter on LinkedIn to utilize all of its content features.
