AI tools have played a huge part in making some of the most notable social media updates this year. But with new features and tools being released daily, it’s easy to miss them.

To help, I’ve created a list of new social media AI tools that will be the most helpful to businesses. Whether you’re needing support with ideation, editing, or analytics, there’s something for everyone.

TikTok’s AI Tools

This week, TikTok announced a stream of new AI tools to help with repurposing existing content and generating new ideas.

Smart Split

Smart Split, available on TikTok Studio Web, makes repurposing your content from other channels simple. The tool works by chopping up your long-form content into multiple short videos formatted for TikTok.

You’ll be able to choose a custom video length, generate captions, and have your clips automatically reframed for TikTok’s vertical video format. If your business’s social media accounts span across multiple platforms, this will help you make the most of your resources.

AI Outline

TikTok’s AI Outline tool supports the content creation process by generating a video outline, titles, hooks, and hashtags from a rough video idea prompt. TikTok explains that each part of the outline can be tailored to your own style with refinement prompts, such as shorten, expand, and excite.

YouTube’s AI Tools

In September, YouTube announced a plethora of new AI enhancements at its annual product event, Made on YouTube. I’ve already covered the new AI YouTube Shorts tools, but here are the other tools you can access:

Ask Studio

Ask Studio is YouTube Studio’s new AI assistant. The chatbot uses your video data to help you understand your analytics and provide quick, personalized insights on video performance.

It can consolidate comments on your videos and community posts to provide quick feedback summaries. For instance, YouTube uses the example prompt “tell me what my community is saying about my editing style.”

Last week, YouTube released more information on Ask Studio through this video:

AI Upscaling

As YouTube streaming via TV continues to grow in popularity, the video platform has recently announced a range of new features to support the big screen format. This includes an AI-powered tool to automatically generate a higher video resolution.

The AI upscaling tool will start by enhancing videos below 1080p from SD to HD, and says it aims to support resolutions up to 4k in the future. While there will be an option to opt out of automatic upscaling, the feature will help maintain a positive viewer experience across all touchpoints.

This feature will be available in the near-future, so watch this space in November!

Pinterest’s AI Tools

Pinterest is on a mission to help brands maximize their sales. After sharing tips for Black Friday and launching a new top of search ad format, the digital moodboard app has announced game-changing AI tools.

AI Board Updates

Pinterest’s latest updates to boards harness the power of AI to encourage product purchases. Here are the key updates that can be expected over the next few months:

  • “Make it yours” boards: Visually similar product recommendations for Pinned fashion and home decor items
  • “Styled for you” boards: Collages created from clothing items that Pinterest users have saved in their boards, helping them visualize full outfits
  • “Made for you” boards: Personalized boards of shoppable pins

While these updates target consumers rather than businesses selling on Pinterest, they will undoubtedly have a positive impact on product sales for the brands mentioned. Optimize product data – including high-quality images, keyword-rich descriptions, and fleshed-out product details – to increase your chances of being featured.

How Should You Use AI Tools?

The social media AI tools shown above can be used to enhance different stages of the creative process. However, nobody knows your business better than you, so it’s important that you check over, refine, and build up any creative work generated by AI.

Still, these tools provide a range of support for busy businesses. Whether you need help with editing, formulating initial ideas, or gathering feedback to refine your social media strategy, it’s worth testing the AI tools across your social media platforms.
