Adding the right sounds to your videos is key to partaking in social media trends. But with such a large library to choose from, finding trending audios on Instagram can be difficult – especially since many sounds aren’t available to Professional accounts.

I’ll show you three of the best places you can find popular Instagram audios to add to your content.

Places To Find Trending Instagram Sounds

These three places should be your first port of call when looking for trending Instagram audios:

#1. Professional Dashboard

From the “Professional Dashboard” button on your profile, you’ll be able to view a “Trending audios” tab, which shows you the top 50 sounds that have been used on Instagram in the past three days.

The list also shows you how many Reels have been made with the sound, and whether it’s moving up or down the ranks, which are all useful factors when deciding whether your business should jump on a social media trend.

#2. Instagram Reels

Another place to find trending audios on Instagram is within the Reels feed. As you scroll through Reels, look at the names of the sounds. The sounds with an upwards pointing arrow next to them are currently trending.

#3. Instagram Edits App

Instagram Edits is a content creation app that doubles as a great place to find trending Instagram audios for your business to use. The app’s “Inspiration” tab is similar to Instagram’s Reel feed, except it only shows Reels using trending Instagram sounds.

Not only does Edits show you the audios, but it also helps you understand how they are used in social media trends – context that will indicate whether getting in on the trend would be the right move for your business.

How To Use Instagram Audios

Edits and Instagram both have a “Use audio” button that takes you straight to an editor with the relevant sound attached. If you want to save a sound to use later, it’ll be sent to your audio library in the Instagram app – even when you save it on Edits.

However, you won’t have much success using a popular audio clip if you don’t accompany it with the right video. That’s why it’s important to familiarize yourself with the overall trend and understand the steps involved in recreating it.

Top Tip💡Clicking on an audio on Instagram will present a feed of Reels made with that sound, which is a great way to get inspired for your own content.

Choosing The Right Instagram Sounds

If you’re willing to download another app, I highly recommend using Edits to find trending audios on Instagram. It’s a much faster alternative to scrolling through Reels on Instagram since it filters out non-trending audios.

However, I still recommend keeping a close eye on the “Trending audios” feature on Instagram. Not only does the three-day window ensure all the sounds featured are highly relevant, but every audio on the list is approved for Professional account holder use.

Plus, small arrows and tags next to each sound give important information about that sound, such as whether it’s new, rising in popularity, or on its way out. This helps you know how quickly – if at all – you should post using the sound.
