Wix’s Advance Into Agentic AI Limitations and Next Steps On February 24, Wix announced an integration between Wix Bookings and Google to help searchers view your services within Google Search and Google Maps. This was made possible with Google’s Universal Commerce Protocol, released in January, which allows agentic commerce across Google’s products. At this early stage, the Wix Bookings integration still has some limitations. But what can it do, what’s to come, and how does it compare to the agentic commerce features offered by other ecommerce platforms? I’ll explain everything below. How Does Wix Bookings Google Integration Work? Wix’s latest integration means that Wix businesses can now display their services and availability directly in Google Search and Google Maps.Once you’ve connected Wix Bookings to Google, here’s what it can do:Display pricing, availability, add-ons, and variations of servicesAutomatically sync with Wix Bookings every 30 minutes to show up to date availabilityOffer time slot selection within Google before leading through to your Wix website to confirm – this feature is currently available for beauty services, but will be extended to other verticals in the futureWix shared an example of a hair salon’s services and availability appearing in Google Maps results. Before connecting, you’ll also need to install the Wix Bookings app, create the services you want to appear, and set up a Google Business Profile to link. Once complete, follow these steps:Head to your Wix site dashboardSelect “Booking Channels” from the “Catalog” menu in the side panelOpen “Booking Integrations” Hit “Connect” under the Google integration and select the services you want to displayOnce you follow the steps above, your services will be available on Google Maps and Google Search.Wix Bookings now connects with five booking channels: Hopp, Google, Facebook, Instagram, and ClassPass. Back in December 2025, Wix – along with other leading ecommerce platforms, including Squarespace and WooCommerce – partnered with Stripe on its Agentic Commerce Suite, making it easier to get your products mentioned by LLMs.However, Shopify is the leading ecommerce platform for agentic commerce since it supports the widest range of LLMs, helping you get mentioned in Google’s AI Mode, the Gemini app, ChatGPTs Instant Checkout, and Microsoft Copilot. Limitations and Next Steps Wix Bookings’ Google integration helps improve your brand’s AI visibility, which puts you at a huge advantage to your competitors at this early stage of agentic commerce. Still, it has limitations at this time:Google displays limited service information: Available time slots are only viewable for Wix beauty services at this timeThere is a small delay in syncing: Google syncs to your Wix Bookings site roughly every 30 minutes. While near real time, this delay could cause problems for busy businesses with a regular influx of bookingsSearchers can’t book your services through Google: Currently, they are sent through to your website to secure the bookingAs AI agents continue to advance, automated product discovery and purchase is becoming an expectation. While the Wix Bookings and Google integration helps you meet your customers where they are, it isn’t yet a fully agentic service. Still, agentic commerce is developing quickly, so Wix will undoubtedly improve its capabilities in time. For instance, Wix Bookings’ Google integration will be expanding to Google’s AI Mode in the near future. To keep up to date with the latest developments, I recommend following ecommerce platforms and AI influencers on LinkedIn, and subscribe to our newsletter for weekly insights.
