  • Wix has partnered with SEO platform SE Ranking to bring users an app that will help them conduct competitor research.
  • SE Ranking aims to demystify the competitive landscape of Google, giving users an insight into who they’re competing with in the SERPs (search engine result pages).

SEO remains one of the most confusing parts of navigating the digital world for entrepreneurs just starting out. Luckily, website builders usually come with tools designed to help, and recently, Wix has added to its offering through its new partnership with SEO platform SE Ranking.

The two have worked together to develop a new SE Ranking app, available through Wix’s App Market. The tool aims to help users understand Google’s competitive landscape, highlighting the fact that “organic search competitors are often different from your competitors in real life.”

The app contains two tools: a competitive research tool and a keyword research tool. The former allows you to conduct competitor research by entering a URL into the search field. Doing so will give you access to data such as the estimated traffic to the site, the number of ranking keywords the site has, the estimated amount of paid traffic, and the number of backlinks it has. This will then give you the opportunity to analyze what your competitors are doing, how they’re doing it, and how their strategy compares to yours.

This tool is complemented by the keyword performance feature which allows you to see what keywords are responsible for driving your competitors’ traffic. Having identified them, you can also incorporate them into your own strategy.

Both of the above tools work to help you analyze known competitors, but what about new ones? The SE Ranking app lets you do that, too. By entering your own domain into the tool’s search field, you can view the data for your own site, gaining visibility over who you’re competing with on Google.

The great thing about an app like this is that, once armed with the relevant data, users will be empowered to make SEO and content decisions designed to boost them up the SERPs. Although, at first glance, the dashboard may take some getting used to as users learn to navigate the tool and make the most of its features.

The SE Ranking app is accessible through the Wix App Market, although users will need to pay a subscription fee to get the most out of it. It offers a 14-day free trial, but once this has expired, the cheapest Essential plan starts at $5.58 per month, with the Pro plan coming in at $9.58 per month, and the Business plan setting you back $18.41 per month.

For those looking to grow their site, however, this is a small investment to make in order to gain extra visibility over your competitors and build a strategy designed to trump them. If SEO is something you don’t feel confident with, bolstering your website with an app like SE Ranking is an excellent idea.More Information
