How Much Does GoDaddy Cost?

GoDaddy has some of the best pricing of any platform I’ve tested in 2025. Businesses can choose from cheap hosting plans and different hosting types, or build a website from scratch with GoDaddy’s website builder.

No matter whether you choose a website builder or a hosting plan, you can get the best deal with GoDaddy by opting for a 36-month subscription or longer. It’s worth checking out GoDaddy’s renewal prices before committing to any plan, because each plan renews at a higher price than these starting rates:

Do you need VPS hosting? 💻

GoDaddy’s VPS hosting plans are uniquely designed for high-traffic, technical sites. That’s why VPS plans are typically more expensive than other hosting types. For that reason, I’d only recommend choosing one of these eight plans if you run a large, resource-draining enterprise.

Website Builder: From $9.99

If you’re looking to build a website as well, you can sign up for one of GoDaddy’s three website builder plans. These plans provide hosting and website builder tools in one package, but you’ll need to pick the Commerce plan if you want to sell products online.

I’ve made a note of the key features below and the annual pricing, but you can get a cheaper deal (from $8.99) if you opt for a longer subscription.

Can you use GoDaddy for free? 💰

GoDaddy’s website builder lets you start for free, and you can stay on this free plan forever if you want to. However, I highly recommend upgrading to a paid plan as soon as possible. GoDaddy’s free plan limits your storage, security, customization, and domain protections. You’ll need to upgrade to connect a custom domain name, access built-in SEO tools, and sell products or take appointments online.

Do you need a website builder? 💻

GoDaddy is one of our top-rated website builders for 2025, largely thanks to its simple-to-use editor, social media tools, and affordable prices. However, GoDaddy doesn’t offer as much functionality as other builders, like Wix or Squarespace. Because of this, I’d recommend picking GoDaddy’s website builder if you’re looking to build a simple, informational site, but look at other ecommerce builders, like Shopify, if you want to set up an online store.

Does GoDaddy Have Additional Costs?

Any additional costs to your GoDaddy package are usually opt-ins or renewals. None of these are particularly hidden costs, but it’s good to be aware of them so you can budget accordingly. The main factors to consider include:

  • Domain names – First-time domain buyers can get a .com domain for $0.01 for the first year (of a three-year contract), but subsequent years will cost you more
  • Renewal rates – After your subscription ends, so will your introductory fees, meaning you’ll be charged the regular rate by GoDaddy
  • Payment fees – Online stores using GoDaddy will be charged 2.7% + $0.30 per transaction
  • Microsoft 365 email – Microsoft 365 email plans range from $1.99 to $10.99 per month, per mailbox

Top Tip 💡

GoDaddy offers three domain bundles, ranging from $2.99 to $20.99 per month (billed annually). These offer a .com domain name, website builder access, GoDaddy Studio access, the ability to sell across marketplaces, and more, depending on your plan.

Is GoDaddy Good Value for Money?

GoDaddy is one of the cheapest website builders and hosting providers on the market, making it a great one-stop shop for small businesses. In fact, alongside Wix, it offers the best value for money of all the platforms we researched.

GoDaddy’s free website builder plan lets you test everything out risk-free, and GoDaddy also provides a variety of hosting options to suit different businesses. From low-barrier-to-entry shared hosting plans to resource-hungry VPS plans, GoDaddy’s pricing covers all bases.

To determine the best value hosting providers and website builders, we take a close look at a platform’s pricing to see what you can get for your money. This involves hands-on testing and thorough research by our writers and in-house research team. As a result, we can award GoDaddy a fair, accurate, and data-powered score for its pricing.

Final Verdict: Is GoDaddy Really That Affordable?

GoDaddy is great value for money, thanks to its affordable pricing, free website builder plan, and scalability within its hosting options. Based on my research, GoDaddy’s website builder is pretty simple in comparison to competitors, but its usability and low cost make it a top option for beginners and budget-conscious businesses.

Before you decide, assess what features, storage allowance, and resources your site needs. Or, choose to build your website completely with GoDaddy. Just remember to consider those additional costs, like domain names and processing fees, in your budget!
