Hi, I’m Rob:

I’m Website Builder Expert’s Content Manager, which means I cast my eye over everything that goes up onto the site, as well as penning my own posts, too.

I come to WBE off the back of almost three years writing and editing for a renowned B2B brand. I’ve also spent time ideating and executing content plans for popular B2C sites: whether they’re focussed on entrepreneurs, ecommerce, or the environment.

I built my first website in 2016 with Wix, in a last-ditch attempt to get a friend’s ailing rock band some gigs. Since then, I’ve experimented with Squarespace, GoDaddy, and Shopify, and dabbled in hosting and email marketing tools, too – with far greater levels of success!

I trust you’ll find the wide range of articles on our site helpful, and please don’t hesitate to shoot me a message with anything else you’d like to see on Website Builder Expert.

You can find me on Linkedin here.

More About Rob

Rob previously worked as a Senior B2B writer before jumping at the chance to link up with Website Builder Expert in June 2021.

Rob is WBE’s Content Manager. As well as writing his own articles, it’s his job to read and edit each and every article Website Builder Expert’s wonderful writers produce, and ensure that we’re always offering the best possible experience to our readers.

Website Builder Expert is the number one resource for getting people online, and he’s proud to say that every single article that you read here is researched, written, checked and double checked with precision and passion.

When not wearing his website builder-shaped hat, Rob can be found writing about topics as diverse as blockchain and biometrics to invoicing and loans – and everything in-between! Whether it’s predicting the downfall of high street ATMs, or waxing lyrical about the importance of trademarks, Rob’s probably written about it!

Away from his desk, Rob enjoys caressing a cold, crisp (and sufficiently socially distanced) pale ale, and shamelessly sharing runs on Strava. On sunny days, you’ll find him curled up on a grassy patch, with a battered copy of Crime and Punishment for company.

Jordan's Short Bio:

jordan glover

Hi, I’m Jordan:

Once upon a time, my digital knowledge was virtually nonexistent – I couldn’t even hook a printer up to my laptop without a good helping of blush-inducing curses. Since then, I’ve worked hard to change that and, thanks to the team here at Website Builder Expert, I’ve learned a lot (who knew that hosting doesn’t just refer to handing out drinks at a summer BBQ?). Using my passion for words and my own experiences with website-building and digital marketing, I’m determined to help others like me get comfortable and take the internet by storm– without any stress or the need for profanities!

More About Jordan

Jordan hasn’t always worked in the digital world. Before the term ‘website builder’ ever entered her vocabulary, she started adult life as an elementary-school teacher, more concerned with math and grammar than servers and domains. After this, she moved to the big bad world of email marketing where she got her first taste of all things digital. A hop, skip, and a jump later saw her joining the Website Builder Expert team, where she’s since been able to put her true passion – writing – to work, inspiring and helping others succeed online.

When she’s not demystifying the daunting world of digital, Jordan can either be found with her nose buried in a book or a pen in her hand, surrounding herself with the power of words at every opportunity.

Duncan's Short Bio:

Duncan_Lambden_AuthorHi, I’m Duncan:

I’m a writer on WBE. I am definitely more of a creative when it comes to writing, or anything really, so the world of website building seemed so stiff, cold, and alien to me. However, I quickly realised that building a website is a much more creative process. With the amount of help and beginner-friendly tools on offer, I learned that building a website is only as technical as I wanted it to be, so I was free to be as artsy as I wanted.

More About Duncan

Duncan is an Australian-born American-raised writer currently living in London. His childhood was spent surrounded by technology – whether it was video games or computers. However, while he always had an appreciation for tech, he rarely got his hands dirty by trying to create something himself.

He’s always been more of an artistic creative, but when wanting to share that side of himself to the world, he was confronted with the cold, hard truth that he needed to learn a bit about website building.

He started his own website, and while there’s still a long way to go before he’s happy with it, he learned that website building can be as creative and flowery as you want it to be.

In his spare time, Duncan likes to sequester himself away from noise and people and fall into fictional worlds, whether they’re held in books, TV shows, films, or video games.

A lot of Duncan’s articles focus on the more creative side of website design – choosing colors, designing a logo, and following visual trends to optimise your website’s accessibility. If you’re looking for ways to boost your website’s visual flair, check out a few of Duncan’s articles below!

maura monaghanHi, I’m Maura:

I grew up scribbling in notebooks, and until recently the thought of relocating my writing to the digital world seemed like an impossible goal. But when I finally took the plunge and created an online portfolio, I immediately saw the benefits of having my work out on the web. Since then I’ve learned everything I can about creating different websites, so that I can help those in a similar situation get online without a similar headache.

More About Maura

Since joining Website Builder Expert in summer 2019, Maura has delved into topics like web design and ecommerce. She’s attended some pretty cool events on the latter, and now considers herself a resource on anything online store-related. If you told her all this a few years ago, she’d be in disbelief. Luckily, Maura and the internet have come a long way together since then.

Outside of Website Builder Expert, Maura’s writing has been featured on various parts of the web, both technical and non-technical. In particular, she’s enjoyed talking about web design on Paldesk and new tech trends on SmallBizDaily. An English major through and through, she’s glad to finally be combining her love of words with her newfound confidence in digital tools.

Hannah's Short Bio:

Hannah WBE AuthorHi, I’m Hannah:

I started writing about the wonderful world of the web around two years ago, and haven’t looked back since. Put simply, there’s never been a more exciting time to get online. Having tested all of the best website builders and ecommerce platforms on the market, myself and the other writers at Website Builder Expert are in a great position to help you do just that – so definitely let us know if you have any questions!

You can find me on Linkedin here.

More About Hannah

Hannah previously worked as a B2B writer before joining the great ship Website Builder Expert in February 2019, and she was really excited to start helping others successfully start their own websites.

Having started her own blog on the ‘wrong WordPress’ back in 2015, we’re pleased to say that Hannah’s technical know-how has come a long, long way in the last six years. Having personally tested and researched all the top website builders on the market, she could now happily bore you with the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org for several hours.

Outside of Website Builder Expert, her writing and research has been featured on several websites in both the technical and the not-so-technical worlds, including RankMagic, WP Reset, Business Insider and SmallBizDaily.

When not discussing Wix and Squarespace with anyone who’ll listen, Hannah often goes running around one of London’s many beautiful parks. On rare occasions, you’ll find her doing both simultaneously (and somewhat breathlessly).

Check out her articles below, and please give her any feedback on what else you’d like to see on Website Builder Expert. She’s all ears!

Dan's Short Bio:

Hi, I’m Dan:

I’m now an expert in website builders (more specifically, in ecommerce platforms), but it wasn’t always that way! I’ve been writing across different channels for years, and I used to think website design was just for professionals, because maybe like you, I had no coding or design experience.

However, with the help of our expert researchers at Website Builder Expert (and after testing every website builder myself), I can confidently guide you through on how to get the most out of each one.

More About Dan

Dan has been a writer at Website Builder Expert since late 2018, and has since become a pro in the world of website builders. He’s grown to love ecommerce platforms in particular, focusing his energy into researching, testing, and reviewing each platform to give you the best possible advice.

While his passion for soccer might be on a par with his passion for ecommerce platforms, we can assure you his skills are anything but. Put simply, he’s no Pele. However, he is one of the leading ecommerce writers on WBE, and particularly loves a ‘versus’ piece. And a pun.

On the soccer theme, one of the biggest fixtures on his content calendar was Squarespace vs Shopify, a contest between two heavy hitters and one of his favorite articles. It doesn’t stop there. He also oversees the WBE social media, tweeting tremendous tales of website builders, hosting providers, and online stores.

He has also written for big publications like the International Business Times, discussing the rate of ecommerce returns, and he has recently crossed the border into the world of website hosting. By broadening his writing horizons, he can now help even more people get online more easily.

More About Lucy

Lucy used to have a pretty turbulent relationship with technology. Computers would switch off when they saw her coming, and phones had a terribly sad life expectancy in her hands. The idea of building a website seemed ludicrous, to say the least. Luckily, that didn’t stop her – and one blog later, she had the bug.

Fast forward to her start at Website Builder Expert in 2018, where she combined her true love, writing, with her new-found interest in technology. She hasn’t looked back – since then, her writing has featured on many other sites including Bitnews TodayUnder30CEO, Usability Geek, Serpstat, and the Shopify Partners blog.

Today, Lucy’s written countless articles on website builders, ecommerce, hosting, WordPress, web design, and email marketing – just to name a few! She uses her expert knowledge to write beginner-friendly guides and reviews connecting people with the perfect platform for their needs.

Lucy can usually be found blasting the Harry Potter soundtrack through her earphones while she writes, both in and out of work. When she’s not writing, you can find her swimming, reading, or out walking.

Phones may never be safe around her, but when it comes to finding you the best way of getting online, you’re in good hands with Lucy. Read any of her articles below, and let her know if you enjoy what you find!

Charlie's Short Bio:

Hi, I’m Charlie:

It’s my job to test and review online platforms. I know first-hand how intimidating it is to create your own website – but it doesn’t have to be. After struggling to build my own site, I committed to helping others with theirs. Nearly two years on, and I’ve helped Website Builder Expert identify the very best online tools out there through detailed and rigorous research. More importantly, I now understand how these platforms can help with your specific needs. Join me as I share what we’ve found.

More About Charlie

Charlie hopped aboard the Website Builder Expert express at the start of 2018 (on his birthday to be exact!) and hasn’t looked back since. He may be a writer by trade, but having joined the team as a researcher, he’s in a unique and ideal position to help you on your online journey.

Charlie’s work about the online world has been featured the internet over, taking pride of place on sites such as TechWyse and Small Business Bonfire. Website builders haven’t always been his forte, though.

He’s come a long way since creating his first website. Online tools and Charlie didn’t get along back then, but they’ve since reconciled their differences and become firm friends. He’s also proved a dab hand with ecommerce platforms and web hosting, too.

Away from work, Charlie enjoys nothing more than reading, talking, and writing about his first love: Soccer. If you’ve got several hours to spare, he’ll happily give you a blow-by-blow account of Leicester City’s 2016 Premier League triumph. Some say obsessed, he prefers ‘passionate’.

From no-hope novice to confident connoisseur, Charlie is living proof that anyone is capable of building their very own website. Read his articles below and feel free to share anything you find particularly interesting or helpful.
