I recommend Hostinger for: I don't recommend Hostinger for:
  • Fans of AI tools to help with building support
  • Simple websites looking for a user-friendly experience
  • Budget-conscious builders
  • Advanced builders or complex websites since Hostinger caters to beginners more than designers
  • Rapidly expanding online stores due to scalability issues and basic ecommerce features
  • Key Takeaways 🔍

    • Hostinger is very affordable, with plans starting from $2.99 per month
    • You’ll need the Business Website Builder plan to sell online
    • Hostinger has an intuitive drag-and-drop editor, which is great for beginners
    • There’s limited room to expand, so Hostinger is better for small businesses
    • Hostinger has a growing suite of AI tools

    Hostinger Pros & Cons

If you’re short on time, you can get a summarized review of Hostinger’s key benefits and drawbacks below:

    What I Like

✔️ Hostinger’s AI website builder created a website for me in under 60 seconds, meaning I could get to work on editing and adding content quickly

✔️ The easy drag-and-drop editor is ideal for beginners, and the smart grid helps to keep things neat and aligned without restricting you creatively

✔️ The suite of AI tools on the Business Website Builder plan helps generate content and images, as well as monitor website visitors

✔️ Hostinger’s cheap and affordable plans – you can sell online for just $3.99 per month

✔️ 24/7 live chat support so you can get in touch with the experts whenever help is needed

    What I Dislike

❌ There’s no app market so you can’t add extra functionality or tools easily

No free plan but you can try its AI website builder out before committing to a plan with Hostinger’s seven-day free trial

❌ Most of Hostinger’s AI tools aren’t accessible on its free trial

Limited scalability – with only two plans, Hostinger caps your site’s capacity to grow online

❌ Despite being affordable at the start, be warned that prices will increase dramatically once it’s time to renew

    My Experience With Hostinger

Hostinger makes the building process quick and simple. In fact, it’s the second easiest website builder I’ve tested, sitting just behind Squarespace.

I was asked to choose between picking a premade template or using Hostinger’s AI Website builder. Since I’ll cover templates later in this article, I decided to put its AI tools to the test.

    Using Hostinger’s AI Website Builder

Hostinger’s AI website builder asked for a few details about my store:

    • Brand name
    • A description of my business
    Hostinger AI website builder prompt
As I typed, a colored bar gave me guidance on how complete my prompt was, which helped me know how much detail to provide. Source: Website Builder Expert

The AI website builder took just 14 seconds to create my site and apply the finishing touches. The result, albeit basic, included key elements like a shop and newsletter sign-up form. I could also generate additional templates to compare up to five versions and styles.

The AI-generated website images have improved a lot since I tested them last year, but they still aren’t overly impressive. The all-important hero image was particularly dull, so I recommend reviewing these before publishing.

None of Hostinger’s AI generated imagery was incorrect. Still, the results weren’t overly impressive. Source: Website Builder Expert

    Editing My Website

Proceeding to the editor, Hostinger provides a handy thirteen-step setup checklist. This guides you through creating your website, setting up your online store, and adding finishing touches.

I could follow along with Hostinger’s setup checklist to help make the final touches to my AI-generated website. Source: Website Builder Expert

Hostinger’s beginner-friendly drag-and-drop editor meant that I had no trouble adding new sections or moving parts around. Plus, the smart grid really helped when aligning elements, letting me snap boxes together neatly – and I loved that I could move outside of the grid if I wanted to.

Hostinger’s drag-and-drop editor has a similar appearance to Squarespace because of this, but with the added freedom of Wix, giving you the best of both worlds.

    How Much Does Hostinger Cost?

Hostinger’s pricing ranges between $2.99 and $3.99 per month, making it one of the cheapest website builders we’ve tested. This makes it an ideal option for anyone on a budget or looking to save costs when choosing a website builder.

There are two plans to choose from: Premium Website Builder and Business Website Builder.

Does Hostinger Have a Free Plan?

Unfortunately, Hostinger doesn’t offer a free plan. Instead, it offers a seven-day free trial and a 30-day money back guarantee. This should give you enough time to play around with Hostinger’s AI website builder, although you won’t be able to test the rest of its AI tools until you move to a paid plan.

Which plan is the best value?

I recommend choosing the cheaper Premium plan to unlock the core features, including Hostinger’s AI website builder. This will be more than suitable for simple websites, personal projects, or portfolio websites. And, if you want to sell online and get access to Hostinger’s full suite of AI tools (which I’ll discuss in more detail later), you’ll need the Business Website Builder plan.

How Do Hostinger’s Website Features Perform?

When it comes to website features, Hostinger performed poorly in our testing. What’s on offer is incredibly lightweight in comparison to the feature-rich plans available with Wix, for example.

That’s not to say there aren’t areas that Hostinger excels in.

    ⌨️Blogging

    • Price: AI blogging tools only included on $3.99 per month plan

Hostinger is one of our top blogging platforms thanks to its AI-powered writing tools and impressive blog functions.

Tools such as scheduling, writer profiles, and blog post categorization make it suitable for both hobbyists and business blogs. Plus, Hostinger’s AI Blog Generator, which can create posts up to 2,000 words long in a number of tones of voice, support you in churning out a large quantity of blog posts.

➡️ Learn how to create a business blog with AI.

On top of this, Hostinger’s blogging tools include:

    • Blog-specific SEO
    • Blog-specific analytics
    • Blog post QR codes
    • Comments
    • Sharing on social media

    🔎SEO

    • Price: AI SEO assistant only included in $3.99 per month plan

If you want your website to get found online, Hostinger gives you a considerable amount of control over your site’s SEO – all while remaining beginner-friendly thanks to AI SEO tips and guidance.

Important aspects of SEO, such as your sitemap, are handled automatically. Plus, Hostinger has the fastest loading speed of all the builders we tested, which not only improves user experience, but also helps you to rank higher in Google search results.

    Still, Hostingers SEO features include:

    • Meta titles and descriptions
    • Custom URLs
    • Keyword support
    • Mobile-friendly pages
    • Integrations with Google Search Console and Google Analytics
Hostinger points out areas of improvement and highlights SEO best practices as you make amendments. Source: Website Builder Expert

    📨Email Marketing

    • Price: One year free, paid plans between $1.99 to $79.99 per month

In June 2025, Hostinger released its AI-powered email marketing tool, Hostinger Reach, which lets you create and analyze professional brand email campaigns.

Hostinger Reach can write entire welcome, promotional, and educational emails from customizable AI prompts in under a minute. The results can then be tweaked manually to fact check and add personalization – which I’d always recommend with AI content.

Hostinger’s AI chatbot tweaked my preview live as I sent additional prompts. I could also switch between mobile and desktop view seamlessly. Source: Website Builder Expert

The key features of Hostinger Reach include:

    • Brand kit: Save your logo and brand colors to be automatically applied to all emails.
    • Flexible prompts: Customize a prompt template or write your own. Send follow up prompts to refine, add, or remove sections.
    • Contact management: Import email list from CSV file or import automatically sync contact information from lead generation forms on your website.
    • Email analytics: Track your open rate, click through rate, and keep track of subscriber numbers.

New Hostinger Reach users will get access to a year’s free plan. Monthly, this caps you at sending 200 emails reaching 100 unique subscribers. You’ll also only be granted 20 AI prompt uses.

If you decide to upgrade, paid plans are extremely flexible, since they’re based on desired reach. This means you can gradually increase your plan as you scale your business.

What AI Tools Does Hostinger Offer?

Thanks to its impressive AI website builder and high ever-growing selection of AI tools, Hostinger is our third best AI website builder for 2025.

On Hostinger’s free trial and Premium Website Builder plan, you’ll have access to:

    • AI Website Builder
    • AI Background Remover and Image Upscaler
    • AI Image Generator – input a brief description and choose an image style to have AI generate images for your site
    • AI Attention Heatmap – while Hostinger recently removed its integrated website heatmap tool from within the editor, you can still create an attention heatmap from an image upload

However, most of Hostinger’s best AI tools are gated behind the Business Website Builder plan, which unlocks:

AI Tools for Supported Website Creation

    • AI Assistant, Kodee – introduced in September 2024, Hostinger’s AI assistant is available 24/7 to help you with editing your site, managing your business, and more
    • AI Page Generator – generate a page based on your description (users are currently testing this feature)
    • AI SEO Tools – Hostinger’s AI SEO Assistant helps to optimize your pages for search engines based on your descriptions and keywords
    • AI Website Builder for WordPress – you can now create a full WordPress website through Hostinger based on a quick prompt, similar to the standard Hostinger AI website builder

    AI Tools for Content Creation

    • Hostinger Reach – introduced in June 2025, Hostinger’s AI-powered email marketing tools let you create, manage, and track email campaigns from your dashboard
    • Product Information Generator – use AI to analyze and generate relevant product information (such as a description) based on the uploaded image
    • AI Writer – give AI a description of the copy you want it to create
    • AI Text Editor – edit length, tone, style, and correct grammar of text on your site
    • AI Blog Generator – create blog posts by sharing a prompt, choosing a tone of voice (such as “Formal”), and setting a length between 300 and 2,000 words
    • AI Logo Maker – create a logo for your business using AI

Of course, I recommend reviewing and editing anything created by AI, particularly copy, before pushing it live.

Do AI Tools Have Usage Limits?

Some of Hostinger’s AI tools run on a credit system, meaning you’ll have to purchase access to the tool once you reach your limit. These tools are:
    • Image Generator: 5 credits
    • Hostinger Reach: 20 AI prompt uses
    • Logo Generator: 1 credit
    • Writer: A daily usage limit varies between plans

Unfortunately, these credits don’t renew monthly. Once you run out, you can purchase more from the “Marketplace” tab on your dashboard. These cost:

    • 50 credits: $4.99
    • 100 credits: $7.99
    • 200 credits: 13.99
    • 400 credits: $23.99

Of course, Hostinger isn’t the only website builder offering AI tools. In fact, when we tested its AI tools, we found that they weren’t as good as Wix’s and Squarespace’s. Here’s a quick snapshot of how our top AI builders perform:
    • Wix

Wix is our top choice AI builder, and for good reason. Wix’s AI features are substantial and cover content creation, SEO and marketing, and website building.

It also has plenty of features that Hostinger doesn’t offer, like an AI portfolio creator that uses your bulk media to generate a professional portfolio on your website.

    • Squarespace

While Squarespace doesn’t have as many AI tools as Hostinger, what it does offer is outstanding. We found Squarespace’s content creation tools and AI builder, Blueprint AI, to produce higher-quality results.

    • Shopify

Shopify’s AI tools tail close behind Hostinger’s. This dedicated ecommerce platform‘s AI tools are most suitable for online stores and are available on all plans.

For instance, the Shopify Magic AI suite comes with an automatic text generation tool to quickly create product descriptions, as well as a seamless AI integration with its media editor that automatically adjusts product imagery. You can see how Hostinger and Shopify compete in our full comparison.

    • GoDaddy

In early 2024, GoDaddy released its own AI suite, GoDaddy Airo. Going beyond pure content creation, GoDaddy’s suite is better equipped at helping businesses grow online. For instance, it can help you create email marketing campaigns, ads for your social media platforms, and customer responses.

Is Hostinger Good for Selling Online?

Ecommerce functionality is available on Hostinger’s $3.99 Business Website Builder plan. Alongside no transaction fees, this makes Hostinger a considerably cheaper option for selling online than other website builders, like Wix or Shopify (which both cost $29+ per month for ecommerce).

Badge showing Hostinger as the best for beginner sellers in our 2025 research

With Hostinger, you can expect basic ecommerce features, such as:

    • Sell up to 600 products – in comparison, Shopify and Squarespace allow unlimited products
    • Manage orders and inventory through your Hostinger dashboard
    • Set up shipping options such as zones and methods
    • Accept appointments and bookings and manage your availability in your Hostinger dashboard
    • Abandoned cart recovery
    • 100+ payment methods, such as Stripe and Apple Pay
    • Customizable checkout options including checkout language and adding custom fields

What kind of business is Hostinger a good fit for?

While Hostinger is a good option for selling on a low budget, its ecommerce features work best for smaller sellers. For instance, the 600 product limit, inability to sell subscriptions and product bundles, and lack of advanced sales and marketing features can quickly limit businesses with larger inventories.

For ecommerce stores serious about growth, I recommend a dedicated ecommerce website builder, like Shopify, which provides powerful tools, third-party apps, and a robust product backend.

    Designing With Hostinger

The range of templates offered by Hostinger is on par with those of Wix, our best website builder for 2025. At the time of writing, there are 160 to choose from, catering to a diverse range of businesses and website types, such as “Travel,” “Community,” and “Fashion.”

I was also impressed by the quality of Hostinger’s templates when I first browsed the library. I particularly liked the “Kristine” template for beauty websites since services, contact forms, and testimonials are already built-in.

    Refining Templates With AI

Select templates also feature a “Personalize with AI” tag in the library, which will tailor your site’s text and images based on a short description of your business.

I was surprised with the quality of the AI personalization, which worked beyond the homepage, even adding my address to the contact page. Unfortunately, this feature only works on two templates across the entire library: Mina and Blick.

All of the images and text included in my personalized theme were high-quality and accurate, which cut down my editing time considerably. Source: Website Builder Expert

Can I Change My Hostinger Template?

If you change your mind, Hostinger templates can be switched. However, this is a manual process, requiring publishing an entire new site and copying your information over.

While AI text and image generation can certainly speed this up, it’s still a lengthy process. If you see yourself wanting to change your website’s theme or style regularly, I recommend GoDaddy, which automatically transfers and reformats your content over to a new design.

Will Hostinger Keep My Website Secure?

One of the most important elements of building and maintaining a website is security. You want to keep your website safe from harmful attacks online, but you also want to protect the data of your visitors and customers, too. Having a secure website helps build brand trust.

Thankfully, since Hostinger is also a hosting provider, security is front of mind. Every website comes with a free SSL certificate, automatic weekly backups, 24/7 server monitoring, advanced fraud detection for stores, and a Cloudflare DNS firewall to protect nameservers from attacks.

    Hostinger’s Customer Support

Hostinger’s help and support is pretty standard in the market. It primarily pushes it’s 24/7 AI agent, Kodee. When I tested this, I had a response back within 10 seconds!

You can also get support from Hostinger via the following channels:

    • Social media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, and YouTube
    • Knowledge Base, featuring articles on everything from domains to SSL certificates
    • Tutorials, including webinars and video guides
    • Hostinger Academy, sharing videos on YouTube for quick tips and guidance
Good To Know 💭 After speaking with Kodee about contact options, I was told that phone and email support are not available. While Hostinger does have a support email, I wouldn’t recommend using it for this reason.

How Does Hostinger Compare to Competitors?

Hostinger takes the third spot in our list of the best website builders. It targets beginners and simple websites, simplifying the building process with its AI website builder and suite of AI tools. But, is Hostinger the right fit for your website?

    Why Choose a Hostinger Alternative?

    • If you’re happy to pay more than Hostinger’s cheap plans, Wix is our top-rated website builder overall. With Wix, you can expect 2,000+ beautiful templates, impressive built-in features, and a free plan for new starters. I’ve put the two head-to-head in our Wix vs Hostinger comparison.
    • While Hostinger is very beginner-friendly, Squarespace is the easiest website builder we’ve tested – just at a slightly higher price point than Hostinger.
    • For an even steeper price, Shopify is the best ecommerce website builder on the market, offering unparalleled sales features to support growing businesses.
    • If you’re looking for great value for money and a quick way to get online, GoDaddy is another cost-effective and speedy option.

    How We Test Website Builders

How do we know that Hostinger is great for AI enthusiasts, or that it has top-tier blogging tools? Well, I’ve tested Hostinger thoroughly, so I have plenty of hands-on experience using its tools and interface. But to fairly compare it to other website builders, like Wix or Shopify, our research team also carried out over 300 hours of data collection and analysis to create our rankings.

Our research process encompasses six core categories, which are weighted according to their level of importance to website owners:

    Website Functionality – 30%

    • We look at the quality and quantity of website features available to users, such as SEO.

    Design Features – 25%

    • This category covers template options and aesthetic capabilities.

    User Experience – 15%

    • We carry out 50 tests with regular people to determine how easy each builder is to use.

    Pricing – 15%

    • We take a look at pricing plans, free trials and plans, and the features locked behind paywalls.

    Help and Support – 10%

    • Reviewing a website builder’s support channels and responsiveness.

    Reputation – 5%

    • This category examines how a website builder performs across the market and against its competitors.

We then award a rating out of five for a builder’s performance in each category – when combined, this is their overall score. After testing 12 website builders, Hostinger came third place, with an overall score of 4.2 out of 5.

Hostinger Website Builder Review: Is It Right For You?

If you’re after a simple website builder that prioritizes the user experience and offers affordable plans, then Hostinger could be a good fit.

Overall, I found it easy to set up and design my website with Hostinger. Its drag-and-drop editor is straightforward to learn, and the design options are basic enough to manipulate without sacrificing aesthetics.

That said, Hostinger does have its drawbacks, namely its limited features, lack of scalability, and absence of an app store. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend it for growing online stores. But, for budget-conscious and beginner builders, Hostinger is a great starting point.
