Wix remains our top-rated website builder for another year, outperforming Hostinger and Squarespace thanks to its impressive built-in features, drag-and-drop editor, and affordable pricing.
Based on my testing, Wix caters to a lot of website needs and industries, so it’s a good option if you’re looking to set up a blog or build an online store. Plus, nearly everything is provided for you in the dashboard, saving you the hassle of installing and paying for plugins.

✔️ What I Like
- Drag-and-drop editor
- Over 2,000 customizable templates
- AI website builder
- Wix AI features, including Wix Astro
- 24/7 support
❌ Areas To Improve
- Locked into your published template

In July, Wix and Alibaba announced a partnership to help Wix merchants access the global online marketplace’s resources, including suppliers and products. This can all be managed from your Wix dashboard, saving you the hassle of jumping between portals. How Much Does Wix Cost?
- Wix has a free plan, but it comes with ads and limited features
- Wix’s four premium plans range from $17 to $159 per month (billed annually)
- You need to upgrade to the $29 per month Core plan to sell online
#2. Squarespace: Best for Beginners

Cons
-
No autosave in editor
-
Limited third-party apps
-
No phone support
I’ve spent over three years testing website builders myself, and Squarespace is by far the easiest to use. Time and again, I find myself drawn to the builder because of its intuitive drag-and-drop editor, stunning designs, and great user experience.
While Hostinger and Wix are also easy to use, Squarespace keeps things very beginner-friendly. Squarespace’s AI website builder, Blueprint AI, guides you through the setup journey, and the grid framework in the editor helps you keep your pages clean and professional-looking.

✔️ What I Like

#3. Hostinger: Best Budget Builder
Hostinger
Best budget builder

Pros
-
Fastest site speed
-
Affordable ecommerce plan
-
Hostinger Reach for email marketing
Cons
-
Limited room to grow
-
No app market
-
Renewal fees are steep
Hostinger is the cheapest website builder of the three. Its two plans cost just a few dollars per month, whereas Squarespace’s and Wix’s plans start at $16 and $17, respectively.
Hostinger’s cheap introductory fees and user-friendly AI tools make it a great starter builder, but I recommend upgrading to another platform once you need advanced tools. For example, online stores with Hostinger can only sell up to 600 products.

✔️ What I Like
- Cheaper starting prices than Wix or Squarespace
- AI website builder and large suite of AI tools
- Drag-and-drop editor (combines the styles of the other two builders)
- Sell online for less than $5 per month
❌ Areas To Improve
- No app market for extra functionality

- Ecommerce plan is limited for businesses
- Lacks scalability

Hostinger vs Wix vs Squarespace: Our Winner
You can’t go wrong by picking Hostinger, Wix, or Squarespace – all three website builders offer AI support, affordable plans, and built-in features to help you grow and manage your site.
Of course, it depends on what you prioritize the most. If you don’t want to break the bank and only need to build a simple site, choose Hostinger. For an easy building experience, Squarespace is your best bet. And, for anything else really, Wix will have you covered.
Which builder should you pick?
Personally, I find Squarespace’s website builder the most enjoyable to use, but you can’t ignore the capabilities of Wix. It does it all, without becoming too complex for beginners. While Hostinger is cheap and also easy to build with, you have to factor in the long-term costs of renewal fees and paying for third-party integrations to supplement the limited built-in tools.
For that reason, Wix is my go-to recommendation for most people and businesses. No matter what you want to build, whether it’s a portfolio or an online store, Wix can support you. Plus, it can continue to grow with you as you gain more traffic and visitors.
